Program Descriptions
AM Preschool
AM Preschool is offered half days on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and open to 3 year old children. The am preschool program is developed to help children with separation, independence, learning to work and play with others, to express themselves, to learn to use and manage their bodies, to extend their interests and understanding of the world around them and to aid the family in developing the child’s sense of self and others. The Creative Curriculum is used to develop age appropriate activities. All children must be toilet trained.
All Day Preschool
Preschool is offered all day on Tuesday and Thursday and open to 3 year old children. The all day preschool program is developed to help children with separation, independence, learning to work and play with others, to express themselves, to learn to use and manage their bodies, to extend their interests and understanding of the world around them and to aid the family in developing the child’s sense of self and others. The Creative Curriculum is used to develop age appropriate activities. There will be rest/nap time in the afternoon for all students. All children must be toilet trained.
4 Year Old Pre-K Grant Program
Four Year Old Pre-K is offered 3 or 4 full days. Parents may choose 3 days: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday or 4 days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The 4 year old Pre-K Grant Program is funded and licensed through the Department of Education. The program will help children with independence, separation, learning to work and play with others, and to extend their interests and understanding of the world around them. The 4 year old Pre-K program will include experiences to support the children's development of emotional and social habits. The program follows the Creative Curriculum which is used to develop age appropriate learning opportunities.
Junior Kindergarten Program
The Junior Kindergarten program is a Monday, Wednesday, Friday all day program. Junior Kindergarten is open to children who are eligible for kindergarten but choose to wait another year. In addition to experiences similar to the preschool programs, the junior kindergarten will include experiences to support the children’s development of emotional and social habits that will prepare them for kindergarten. Pre-language arts and communication skills will be incorporated. Learning to follow directions, to complete individual tasks, and to develop skills for kindergarten will also be included. The Creative Curriculum is used to develop age appropriate learning opportunities and activities.
NOTE: There is a $50.00 per student registration fee required in order to hold your child’s spot in our early childhood program (the student registration fee goes towards supplies throughout the school year as well as offsetting milk costs for snack).
